DIY Kate Spade Confetti Earrings

I don't know about you but I am swooning over all things gold, glittery, and sequined right now! I've seen the Kate Spade Confetti Earrings making their way around Pinterest and fell completely in love. Unfortunately they are no longer available and at $70 a pop I couldn't afford them any how. Then the creative light bulb burned bright and my wheels started to turn.....first I tried this on a smaller pair of faux diamond studs I had on hand. They were pretty but not completely doing it for me. On my NYE grocery shop at Walmart I ran through the jewelry section and saw the perfect sized faux diamond studs for only $2.88!!!! I think I will go back and get 10 pairs and make every color!

Supplies: I did this two ways, one with glittered nail polish and one with just glitter since these are the supplies I had on hand. Both ways worked fabulously.

NAIL POLISH METHOD: All you do is paint a few coats, and that's it. Literally took 5 minutes.
GLITTER METHOD: After thinking up this genius plan, I googled to see if anyone else had. Sure enough there were a few crafty gals out there on the same page as me. I saw one do it with modge podge. I guess that would work but it just seemed too time consuming and messy for such a small thing (I've done my fair share of modge podge glitter projects before and it's not quick) Plus I figured more people would have some type of clear top coat nail polish lying around vs. MP. So this method is pretty sticking fantastic too. I just painted a coat of clear on the earring, sprinkled the glitter on top, tapped sideways a few times to let the excess fall, let it dry for a couple minutes and then added a generous coat of clear polish on top to set.
Wham, Bam, Thank you Mam!
And just like that you are done! I did this project while folding the mounds of holiday laundry we had. It's that simple.
