Swan Nursery

Sweet baby girl's last nursery was bright, cheerful, and fun! I loved it so, but since I had the privilege of creating two dreamy nurseries for her in the first year I wanted to go the complete opposite. I knew I wanted to use Panatone's color of the year and I knew I wanted it to be soft and sweet.

A few months ago I had a whole design completed in my head and I was just about to make a Pottery Barn purchase on a sweet lamb rocker when they wouldn't accept my coupon code! Being the thrifty designer that I am I thought I'd search the web one last time for a riding toy. As I was scrolling through Land of Nod I spotted this swan and it stopped me dead in my tracks. I died, right there. After I picked my jaw up off the ground I did a happy dance and immediately changed everything around this swan. I have always loved a black and white palette, throw some pink in there and boom- I'm head over heels!

So let me tell you about all that I did in this space. Then, I'm just going to let the boys run wild, while she and I play on the floor in her room ;)

I hope you enjoy!

The crib is a true vintage Jenny Lind I scored off craigslist last year for my middle. I painted in a low VOC paint in the color of Behr's Castilian Pink.

The beautiful rug is from Wayfair and can be found here at a very reasonable price! The adorable polka dotted swaddle blanket is from this Etsy seller.

The wrought iron "DREAM" is from Michaels last year, it came with a stand on the back but I had the Mr saw it off so I could hang it above her crib. I love the 3D affect it has in real life.

This light. (sigh) I had already purchased a chandelier for her room before we even left Colorado but when I realized this light I had been drooling over for some time was a lotus flower I knew the room HAD to have it! It's from World Market and can be found here.

All of the frames are from Hobby Lobby. I created the personalized name print and silhouette in picmonkey.com and purchased instant download prints from various Etsy sellers. Below are the links to each shop:

The nightstand and dresser are vintage finds off craiglist from years ago (and have been painted a dozen times!) The drawer pulls are from Hobby Lobby and can be found here.

Her leather bow is from this Etsy seller and her cute romper is from this Etsy seller.

These adorable wooden toy blocks (who my middle child will not leave alone!) are from the amazing Fawn Over Baby Etsy shop found here!

The sheep is Emperor's Art I purchased at an amazing boutique in Charlotte, NC and the sweet little teddy is a Jelly Cat (our fav!!!)

The lace pillow is from Hobby Lobby, the bunny is Jelly Cat, and the adorable mary jane's are Joyfolie. The frames I found at Homegoods. I made the Little Lady print and the water color swan is an instant download from this Etsy seller.

I like to cover my books in scrap book paper to add dimension and needed height to a vignette.

This unbelievable gorgeous dress is Dollcake (I'm completely obsessed with everything Dollcake). I purchased for her 6 month pictures and it's just too pretty to be hanging in her closet!

Can you believe these curtains are from Walmart.com?!?! I searched high and low for inexpensive 96 inch back tab (pocket pleat) panels in white. The rod is from Target and was originally brushed nickel but I spray painted a soft gold.

The majority of the florals and all of the greenery are from Hobby Lobby. The anenomies are from this website, and the peonies were purchased years ago from Target. The mirror was a vintage brass frame my MIL gave me and I painted gray.

The chaise was purchased in January from American Furniture Warehouse (and I loooooove it!!)

This adorable wooden camera can be found here in the Fawn Over Baby Etsy shop!

Those scallops give me all the heart eyes!!

Okay can we just talk about this amazing baby play gym for a minute? I will admit, I absolutely despise the look of the colorful play mats and gyms but all us Mommas know they are necessary! So when I saw Fawn Over Baby had started making these BEAUTIFUL wooden ones, I was swooning with delight! And the funny thing is she loves to play with this one more than my boys did with their ugly store bought ones, monochromatic colors and all!! I seriously think they know when it's a baby toy made for them and then want nothing to do with it (ie. play phone versus my iphone, haha they somehow know mine is different!) She loves chewing on these wooden beads and my older boys even fight to play with it!

You can get your own here in this Etsy shop!

  1. This is just too cute! The pale palette is so sweet and I love all the pieces you painted! The gold with all the gray is fabulous too! Good job momma! And it looks like it could easily transition into a toddler room when the time comes! ;) Fabulous!

  3. This is so beautiful! What is the name of the wall paint you used? I saw you mentioned Pantone color of the year (2016) but I can't find the corresponding color. Thank you!
