If you are new here, let me give you a little background on our family before I dive into our traditions. The Mr and I have been married for (almost) ten years. Two days after our wedding I moved to Washington State with him. We are originally from NE Florida, but Joint Base Lewis-McChord was his first duty station. Other than a short 11 month stint during our transition from active duty to civilian life we have always lived away from home. When you are apart of a military community most people are away from home and their families so you do holidays together with your "Fr-amily". Since we've become a civilian family we try to travel home as much as possible but most of our holidays are spent alone. We don't have any family Christmas get together's to plan around so our traditions might not be the norm. We like Christmas Day to be nothing but a snacking, napping, snuggling up in pj's kind of day so we do our formal supper on Christmas Eve before service and then munch on the leftovers all the next day.
Today I am sharing our formal holiday tablescape with you. Some of you may know since I discovered Afloral earlier this year I have been using them for so many projects. With three little ones, two of them in the difficult toddler stage, venturing out to stores is something I just don't want to do right now. I love that I can search Instagram using the hash tag #afloral and see how and what florist and stylist are using from them. They also offer a lot of real life photos on their website. Many faux flowers are cheap and fake looking so this is a really important part of picking out the good ones. They also have a great preserved floral department and I've chosen a few of my favorites to adorn this holiday table garland I created.
