Beauty in Simplicity Fall Home Tour

"No Spring, nor Summer beauty hath such grace as I have seen in one Autumnal face."
-John Donne

Hey there, if you are coming over from Katie at Halfway Holistic welcome to our Beauty in Simplicity Fall home tour and blog hop!

Most people who know me would probably say that I don't love color, but that statement would be so wrong. I actually love every color of the rainbow. So why do you use so much white in your home, you may ask. Even before it was trendy, white and neutrals have been my go to for the last 10 years. That's the majority of my adulthood and here's why. I get tired of things really easily. Where most people hate change my Husband and I actually thrive on it (hence 20 moves in 10 years). All neutral tone on tones makes a beautiful backdrop for pops of color that I can change with each new season. You notice the true beauty of an object when it is surrounded by all white, it allows the unique characteristics of each item to truly shine instead of being lost in a sea of chaos.

Now, let's talk about this year's Fall color palette. I have been completely obsessing over different shades of Olive. Ranging from deep and dark to a soft blue/green/grey shade. I used different blue gray shades of Heirloom (aka Cinderella or Fairytale) pumpkins and dark green gourds. I remember the first time I laid eyes on a blue Heirloom pumpkin six years ago. It literally took my breath away and I knew I had to mix them in with my warm golden Autumn colors. The result was pure perfection and I've been doing it ever since. There is just something about the perfect mixture of warm and cool tones that really makes me swoon.

  1. Rachel!!! How do you nail it EVERY SINGLE TIME?! Your home is absolutely stunning, and it looks like you've been living here for years instead of just a few weeks!
